Hong Kong Chief Executive CY Leung far left in green and Philippine President Benigno Aquino far right in red
The Chief Executive, Leung Chun-ying said that an agreement was reached during a meeting with him and Philippine President Benigno Aquino today at the APEC summit in Bali.
CY Leung claims that, “The Philippine government has agreed to carry on with our dialogue and to look at the demands of the families of the victims and of those injured in this incident.”
Leung also said that he disagreed with Aquino when he believed that related issues had all been resolved. Leung also claims he made it clear to Aquino that “unless it is resolved properly, [the Manila hostage crisis] will continue to stand in the way in the normal relationships between Hong Kong and the Philippines.”
