Not safe to fly: HK Airlines fail to follow air traffic instructions again

You might find crazy deals with Hong Kong Airlines but you may also have the ride of your life!

The Civil Aviation Department has confirmed that Hong Kong Airlines pilots failed to follow instructions given by air traffic controllers seven times in just the months of August and September. Incidents noted the pilots taxiing on the runway without permission and changing altitude before getting clearance. Hong Kong Airlines has been asked to provide explanation and make improvements.

This is not the first time Hong Kong Airlines has been criticised for its safety standards. A former Hong Kong Airlines captain, Christopher Allan, spoke-out about his concerns – he resigned after witnessing the airline’s “terrible standards” and was asked to “go easy” on captains taking a mandatory six-monthly flight simulator who Allan claims were drifting off the runway and almost crashing during tests.
