Sing Tao Daily reports that a Hong Kong Airlines pilot was throwing a tantrum Friday evening and refused the fly the HX284 flight scheduled to leave Hong Kong for Taipei.
Customers were finally notified of the flight being cancelled after waiting for eight hours! The airline did not arrange for another flight for the affected passengers until the following day – so many passengers were infuriated as they already have planned itineraries and hotel rooms in Taiwan.
Hong Kong Airlines compensated the passengers HK$700 for the inconvenience and claims that there wasn’t a pilot throwing a fit but merely a mechanical issue that caused the incident.
With poor flying records and crazy delays with dodgy explanations, we’d stay away from Hong Kong Airlines if we were you!
