HK teens trash rented flat in Taipei, may face time behind bars

Two Hong Kong teenage girls visited Taipei and rented an apartment with a fake ID card. They trashed the apartment, destroying all the furniture and appliances in the flat and left mountains of rubbish, including piles of blood-stained underwear and sanitary pads in the bathroom (what?!).

The girls lied to the landlord – told the landlord that they were studying in Taipei and weren’t able to pay their rent as their family hasn’t wired them the money yet. The good-hearted landlord agreed to let them pay rent a month later, and even waived the rental deposit.

After discovering the apartment had turned into a wasteland and the brand new television missing, the landlord’s daughter called the police, and the two Hong Kong teens were arrested a few days ago. They may both serve a prison term in Taiwan.
