Preacher, 48-year-old Eric Wong Wai-ming and married father of two alleged to have molested two 12-year-old boys and showered with them over ten times in school has been found not guilty of sexual assaults.
The form one pupils X and Y told the court that Wong had molested them in his office, school’s changing room, shower cubicles of public swimming pools and sports centres, his home and X’s home.
Wong was acquitted of all nine charges of indecent assault due to inconsistences in the testimonies given by X and Y. The District Court Judge went as far to say that he preacher was kind and caring and offered help only because the boys asked. The judge did say the preacher could have dealt with the matter better like taking them to a doctor but there was no evidence to show that Wong had used sex education to molest them.
