SOULS OF HONG KONG – We met Nelly, a university student majoring in English Education, at Chung Chi College in Sha Tin. We asked her to give Hongkongers a piece of advice, “I think we should put down our cell phones once in a while and enjoy the beautiful things in our city. I see people always looking at their cell phones when they are travelling or waiting for the bus. I think time will be better spent reading a book, appreciating the city’s scenery or having a quality chat with a friend.” Nelly said.
Souls of Hong Kong is a new Coconuts series of street portrait photography inspired by Brandon Stanton’s Humans of New York. Every human has a story to tell, and we intend to share some from the millions of souls who call Hong Kong home.
