Hong Kong’s Discovery Bay residents are worried about a possible arsonist among the community as six golf carts were set on fire yesterday around midnight.
The smoke from the burning six petrol-engined golf carts parked outside Glamour Court worth HK$14 million caught the attention of a 50-year-old security guard who alerted authorities.
As reported by The Standard firemen were called to the scene to put out the fire and luckily no one was injured, but the firemen do believe it was caused by an act of arson – although they have not ruled out the possibility of an overheated engine.
In 2008, four golf buggies were set on flame at the exact same parking lot and a 20-year-old man was arrested.
