A serious medical malpractice incident happened at the Baptist Hospital in Feb. 2014: a man discovered a piece of gauze was left inside his body after a chest surgery. Consequently, he needed to undergo surgery again to remove the piece of gauze, fortunately he is currently in stable condition now.
The Sun reports that after investigation, the hospital was found not to have violated its Code of Practice but authorities have asked the hospital to review the incident and prevent it from happening again. Baptist Hospital said that a detailed report has been submitted to the Department of Health.
