Imagine being able to cross the harbour without having to squeeze on the train or bus. Well this may soon become a reality as the Hong Kong Civil Engineering and Development Department is exploring building an underground pedestrian tunnel stretching from Tsim Sha Tsui to Central or Wanchai and vice-versa.
The tunnel will also serve as a shopping attraction in addition to allowing tourists and residents cross the harbour by foot in about 20 minutes. According to Sky Post’s report, this tunnel can be built and ready to the public as soon as 2029. What an awesome idea!
