Hearing adjourned for employer who allegedly chopped helper’s finger

Indonesian helper, Anis, who newly arrived in Hong Kong was allegedly injured by her employer a week after starting work at her employer’s apartment.

The Sing Tao Daily reported that the 39-year-old employer, surnamed Yin, was charged with assault at the Eastern courts yesterday, with the hearing adjourned until Jun. 18.

According to Anis, the employer was unhappy with her work performance, so she dragged her to the kitchen, grabbed her hand, and pinned it onto the chopping board, then cut her little finger. Anis reported the incident to her agency who reported the case to the police.
