Lawmaker “Long Hair” jailed for four weeks

League of Social Democrats lawmaker, Leung Kwok-hung aka Long Hair has been sentenced to one-month in jail, reports the RTHK.

Leung was arrested for three charges of criminal damage and behaving in a disorderly manner in public during a protest at a public forum in Sept. 2011. Long Hair appealed to the High Court and had his originally two-month long sentence shortened to four weeks.

Leung has pleaded with the court to allow him to serve his sentence in the summer so that he can complete this year’s legislative season. Unfortunately, the judge claimed to have no power to postpone the sentence and so Leung’s lawyers has expressed to appeal.
