1,600 paper mache pandas arrive in Hong Kong

As part of the government’s “Conserving Central” initiative, PMQ has partnered with AllRightsReserved to bring “1600 Pandas World Tour in Hong Kong: Creativity Meets Conservation” to Hongkongers.

Yesterday, the 1,600 paper mache pandas arrived in Hong Kong and were greeted by all at the Hong Kong International Airport.

The pandas will start their tour around Hong Kong, exhibited at Hong Kong landmarks before a three-week exhibition at PMQ. If you want to check out the pandas, be sure to refer to the below schedule (schedules may change depending on weather conditions, so be sure to check this website for updates).

Jun. 10, noon to 3pm: Ma Wan

Jun. 14, 1pm to 4pm: Tsim Sha Tsui clock tower

Jun. 19, noon to 2pm: Victoria Park, Causeway Bay

Jun. 20, noon to 3pm: Tram Touring

Jun. 21, 8am to 10pm: Statue Square, Central

Jun. 25-17 PMQ, Central

Aside from visiting the pandas, Hongkongers can also “adopt” the pandas online (from HK$200 to HK$450) in which all proceeds will be donated to WWF-Hong Kong for conservation and education work. Locals can also design and craft their own paper mache pandas at the first-ever “Made-in-Hong Kong” Paper Mache Panda Workshop, held at PMQ (click here for more workshop details).
