Sport For All Day: All LCSD sports & leisure facilities open to all for free on August 3rd!

The Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) has released a promotional video for its “Sport For All Day” in which a man tells you: “Don’t sit around all day or you’ll get a fat belly!”

So go on and take their body-shaming advice on the LCSD’s annual Sport For All Day on August 3rd. This means that tons of public facilities that normally require a fee will be open and free for all, in a bid to encourage healthy exercise for everyone.

But you’ll still have to make a booking (except for swimming pools), which you can do starting from July 27 at 9am, and you can only make one booking per person so that everyone can join in on the fun.

Things that will be free on August 3:

  • Indoor leisure facilities: badminton, tennis, basketball, netball, volleyball and squash courts, table tennis and billiard tables, climbing walls, bowling greens, golf facilities, fitness rooms, a cycling track, activity rooms and dance rooms
  • Outdoor leisure facilities: tennis and practice courts, bowling greens, batting cages, rope courses, climbing walls, archery ranges and golf facilities
  • Sports grounds: artificial and natural turf pitches
  • Public pools: all except for Wan Chai Swimming Pool (lines will be formed to let people in on a first-come, first-served basis)
  • Water sports: All craft rentals are free

Make bookings at the LCSD website here.
