“The Expats” is a satirical web series about, well, expats in Hong Kong. In their latest episode an actor pretends to be a famous Portuguese chef touting his latest culinary masterpiece: egg tart sushi. It is exactly what it sounds like, and it probably tastes exactly what it sounds like too.
We suppose the point of the video is to make fun of the susceptibility of Hongkongers to become obsessed with any food item that’s been declared trendy, but it falls a bit flat of inducing any real, hearty laughter.
Nevertheless, it’s worth seeing the work of independent, Hong Kong-based comedians and some of their other stuff is genuinely chuckle-worthy.
