Drunken Master: Jackie Chan’s son arrested in Beijing for drug-related offenses

The People’s Daily reported that Jackie Chan’s son, Jaycee, and Taiwanese actor Kai Ko were arrested on drug-related charges last Thursday in the Dongcheng district of Beijing. It seems like there’s no fighting one’s way out of this charge, with both men confessing to the crime and both their urine tests coming back positive. The police also found 100 grams of marijuana inside Chan’s house.

Chan (junior), 32, is under criminal detention on the suspected crime of “providing a shelter for others to abuse drugs” while Ko, 23, is under administrative detention, which is less serious and a common punishment for first-time offenders of recreational drug-related crimes, report the SCMP and the Independent.

Jackie Chan will probably not appreciate the irony that he himself has been an active anti-drug advocate in China, with the China National Narcotics Control Commission Office appointing him as an ambassador in 2009.
