Small independent magazine “dinglei” has made a graphic comparing the selection process for TVB’s Miss Hong Hong (which is absurd in its own right) to Hong Kong’s 2017 chief executive selection.

The left column details how 2014’s Miss Hong Kong is selected, while the column on the right explains the electoral process for the city’s top political post.
For the Miss Hong Kong pageant, a five-member committee selects three finalists after judging and scoring them in various categories. For the chief executive election, there will be 2-3 candidates, all of which have to be endorsed by at least half of the 1,200-strong nomination committee.
Finally, it’s “one person, one vote” for both the showdown between the three Miss Hong Kong finalists, and the nominated chief executive candidates.

No word on Beijing’s stance towards a candidate running for both Miss Hong Kong and chief executive in 2017.
