Rework It, Baby! Dine & Shine carnival to kick off Hong Kong’s Fashion Walk makeover

For the past few years, Causeway Bay has been in stuck in its proverbial Dark Ages. But now, it may have finally followed the light towards its fashion renaissance.

Hongkongers, it’s time to get those spirit fingers out and bring the energy, as Fashion Walk’s year-long “re-making” is about to kick off with Dine & Shine carnival!

In an attempt to reimagine the little precinct in the vein of New York’s Soho, Tokyo’s Inner Harajuku and London’s World’s End (not aiming too high then), the Hang Lung Group will be hosting plenty of fun and frolics on Sept. 27 and 28 to draw attention to the on-going project.

Revolving around the theme of “Let’s Get Out and About”, the event is bound to be a chaos of colour, style in a typically organised, safe and clean Hong Kong festival frenzy.

New York based artist Jeremyville, whose crazy creations will be adorning the streets, will unveil his work at the carnival. His signature use of bold (and somewhat jarring) colours and comical trippy cartoon characters will depict the area’s new scene and vibe with gusto.

The Fashion Walk team believes the celebration will be the start of its journey “to the peak of the fashion world.” Uh, we don’t want to dash their hopes too much, but Central might have a head start there.

Nevertheless, the carnival promises to be entertaining at the very least, with highlights including an art jamming session with Jeremyville (cool), a beach party (perplexing) and an ABSOLUT Vodka tasting tour (we’d be lying if we said this wasn’t the thing we’re looking forward to most).

It may not have the uber glam credentials of Central just yet, but it sure sounds more fun. Click here and get tickets as spaces are limited and on a first-come, first-served basis.
