VIDEO: Man races the MTR from Mong Kok to Prince Edward and aaaalmost makes it

MTR stops are often very close together. So close, in fact, that one man was convinced that you could get off the train, run to the next stop, and get back on the very same train. After seeing a video in which a man races the tube in London, local filmmaker and production company owner Ngan Cuz decided to orchestrate a similar display of urban athletic prowess in Hong Kong. As you can see in the video below, the runner barely misses the train, arriving just when the doors closed. Not too shabby!

Ngan enlisted his production company’s art director, who did some casual training to prepare. His previous kung-fu training helped too, he said.

After doing some research and finding what they deemed were the two closest stations in Hong Kong, Mong Kok and Prince Edward on the Tsuen Wan line, the two men picked a time to try their stunt: 6:58am to be exact, when there would be minimal pedestrians and cars on the street.

Despite coming so close to beating the train, Ngan said it was too tiring to try again. “But if someone else would like to try, we can film it for them!”, he said.

So what are you waiting for?
