Parts of Hong Kong turned into chaos today as anti-Occupy crowds massed and intimidated Occupy protestors.
Pro-democracy protest groups HKFS, Scholarism and OCLP made an announcement at 6:50pm saying that they would call off the proposed dialogue with Chief Secretary Carrie Lam if the violence was not stopped.
The anti-Occupy crowds are rumoured to be paid, but no concrete verification of this has been presented publicly.
In Mong Kok, anti-Occupy crowds destroyed protest tents and structures during a rainstorm. Right now the situation is chaotic with few police and lots of fights breaking out.
In Causeway Bay, violent thugs wearing medical face masks seemed to operate with impunity, provoking police and protestors.
This situation is happening now and fluid, but check out tweets and video from Coconuts Hong Kong below.
