The police, noticing that some Hongkongers have been bringing their children to check out the protests in Mong Kok, tsk-tsked these parents for this “extremely irresponsible and dangerous” behaviour.
In a statement, they also warned that such parents and adults may be breaking Hong Kong laws, and appealed to them to leave the protests immediately.
Otherwise, the police continued rather ominously, they would take “appropriate action to protect children from unnecessary harm”. It’s unclear what the police would do if children face necessary harm.
Finally, the police reminded the public that errbody in general should stay away from the protests.
