Tashtastic: Celebrate the world’s best moustaches at Hong Kong’s first Movember 2014 event

Everyone loves a man with a moustache (unless you have to kiss him), and with just over a week to go until Movember, it’s time to celebrate top lip mufflers worth celebrating before things get too hairy!

Kicking off tonight and running until Sunday, Made in Movember will see “Mo Bros” and “Mo Sistas” (we guess the latter just means you can stop shaving your pits for a month?) descend on Sheung Wan’s super hipster event space Little Square for an exhibition like no other.

Showcasing 20 Getty Images portraits of moustachioed men – ranging in prominence and prowess from Jimi Hendrix and Salvador Dali to “that bloke down the street”– the event will prove once and for all that the moustache maketh the man.

If you want to start from a clean slate, Gentlemen’s Tonic will be offering free shaves throughout the weekend, and if you’re just in it for the free food and booze, we hear it’s San Miguel and Pizza Express. No complaints there then.

Greg Rafferty, head of Movember Asia, said, “This is the first time we’ve held this sort of event here in Hong Kong. We hope the exhibition provides Mo Bros with ample inspiration and sparks even more enthusiasm from the Mo Sistas in their lives. It’s a great chance for the Movember community to come together and we hope to see a great turnout at the Friday night launch.”

If you want to take part in Movember, which involves growing a moustache in November or doing supportive girlie stuff (if you haven’t figured it out yet), register here: hk.movember.com.

Oh yeah, and it’s all in aid of men’s health and prostate cancer or something, but no one really talks about that.
