As if Hongkongers would miss out on the chance to get something for free! During the Thanksgiving season, blood donations are sure to shoot through the roof as the Hong Kong Red Cross Blood Transfusion Service (BTS) will be offering buffet coupons to select hotel restaurants in return for blood. Sounds somewhat Twilight-y.
From Nov. 1 to 30, any blood donor will be presented with two buffet discount coupons, sponsored by the corresponding hotels, so that family and friends can “share happy moments” over food. What’s even yummier is that each table and coupon will also receive a “one-pound cake” in return for his or her efforts and donations.
Furthermore, in an event that could be described as “Light-Headed Speed Dating”, donors and recipients will have the chance to meet and mingle with one another from 1pm to 7pm on Nov. 22 at the Mong Kok Donation Centre.
With “special” treats also promised to be going around as part of the Thanksgiving celebrations, we’re pretty certain that there are undertones of a Bella and Edward scene here. Let’s just hope that nothing gets as complicated as their relationship.
