‘Midnight in Mong Kok’: A short documentary on Mong Kok throughout the Umbrella Movement

Students at Hong Kong University made this 16-minute documentary on Mong Kok, the grittier, less famous yet equally important protest site of the Umbrella movement.

The film follows the movement from Sep. 22, the day university students began their strike in the name of democracy. From there we meet the various protesters, young and old, who have set up camp on the streets of Mong Kok as the movement progressed.
