Bailiffs have begun clearing barriers in Admiralty this morning as an injunction preventing pro-democracy protesters from blocking access to CITIC Tower comes into force.
Under the order brought by Justice Thomas Au, police, who are at the site to assist the bailiffs, can arrest anyone breaching the rules.
This injunction, requested by Golden investment – which claims its employees in CITIC Tower are at risk by having their fire exits blocked – is just one of many to be granted around the various sites of the demonstrations.
Police say they will move in to clear Mong Kok later this week.
According to the SCMP, some students have already moved their tents, pre-empting the action this morning.
Many say they will leave Admiralty but set up camp somewhere else that the injunction does not cover.
Others, however, including Alex Chow, one of the leading voices of the Hong Kong Federation of Students, say they will not be moved from the site and will risk arrest.
