Wanderlust never looked better: Legendary travel photographer Michael Freeman holds Hong Kong masterclass tonight

Have you noticed the alarmingly increasing number of Hongkongers who think Instagramming an airport departures screen counts as travel photography? If you’re not in that boat and want to learn how to best make your friends jealous with pictures of your Christmas holidays, this workshop will make you a snap happy chappy.

Michael Freeman

Michael Freeman, the world’s most published photographer, will be hosting a masterclass at Hong Kong’s Royal Geographical Society tonight. Principal snapper for the Smithsonian Magazine for decades, Freeman has published 133 books and had his photographs featured in National Geographic, Condé Nast Traveler, Newsweek, and… we won’t list any more – there are three more rows worth of illustrious titles. Take it from us, it’s all very impressive.

Freeman will be revealing the tricks of making travel photography “personal, distinctive and rewarding”, while wanderlust wannabes can bring along some of their most impressive personal efforts for Freeman to critique. The photography legend will present an award to the top three entries. (Full disclosure: we’ve no idea if there will be real awards or just an announcement. We can only guarantee validation from one of the greats.)

Where: KPMG Conference Rooms, 8/F Prince’s Building, Central
