Hong Kong company releases ultra-insane version of the Rubik’s Cube

Looking for a way to keep your kids/ significant other quiet this Christmas? A Hong Kong-based gadgets company thinks it has the answer, but be warned that it might also send you mad and bankrupt you.

Brando has released a mega version of the retro puzzle the Rubik’s Cube in what can only be described as a supremely evil endeavour.

Dubbed “The Pillow” due to its slightly curved sides, it has a whopping 18 times more squares than the traditional easy-peasy-lemon-squeezey version, which was invented in 1974 by Hungarian architect Erno Rubik.

We’re talking 1,014 tiles to match instead of just 56. That’s pretty mind-blowing, but perhaps not as mind-blowing as the price – a cool USD320 (HKD2,480)!

However, the brand claims the toy is well worth the investment, as it apparently increases creative thinking, encourages the use of both sides of the brain, and improves both IQ and EQ (emotional intelligence).

Perhaps it helps with the latter as those trying to solve the puzzle must learn not to burst into intense fits of rage every five minutes.
