Soggy Santa: Hongkongers to suffer a wet and cloudy Christmas

Have you been dreaming of a white Christmas? Well, that was never on the cards, but you’re going to get a wet Christmas instead. That almost the same, right?

Errrr… NO!

According to the Hong Kong Observatory – which recorded crazily low temperatures of 5°C in its Noong Ping and Ta Kwu Ling stations overnight – both Christmas Day and Boxing Day are expected to be cloudy with intermittent rain.

Boo! No Boxing Day barbecues on the beach this year then. Sorry, Aussies.

The nine-day weather forecast predicts a crisp but sunny Christmas Eve with temperatures of around 15°C. And while these relatively warm climes will continue for the rest of the week, the weather gods have smited us with cloud and rain until the weekend.

Screw you, weather gods!

The forecast says: “Under the influence of an easterly airstream, it will be cloudy with a few rain patches over the coast of Guangdong in the middle and latter parts of this week.”

Oh, so it’s the easterly airstream we should be hating on. What a dick.

Things are expected to turn a corner on Dec. 29 and 30 when the sun will grace us with its presence once again, but that will really be of little use to anyone.

#Humpf!
