Two people nearly hit by taxi lie on sidewalk with phones in hand while waiting for ambulance

A taxi driver, 62, was stopping for a passenger on Mong Kok’s Nathan Road when his car got hit in the side by a double-decker bus and veered onto the sidewalk on Saturday afternoon.

Two pedestrians, a man and a woman, jumped out of its way, sustaining minor injuries, reports Apple Daily.

Bad enough for them to lie on the ground while they waited for the ambulance, but not serious enough for them to stop using their mobile phones.

Never underestimate the power of Hong Kong people to text in any situation.

The taxi driver was arrested for illegally turning into a bus lane. By law, taxis can only stop on the road at least 150 metres away from a bus lane.
