Hong Kong netizens claim Sheung Shui shop is selling dog furs

You may have heard of the weird and rather morbid custom of carrying around a rabbit’s foot for good luck, but who knew that extends to dead dogs?

Okay, before you put your pooch under house arrest and rugby tackle any old lady trying to pet him on the street, may we be clear that we’re not 100 percent sure whether these photos – taken by David Wong at a shop in Sheung Shui – are actually of dog furs at all.

There’s just speculation on Facebook, but that’s good enough for us.

Some commentators have suggested the white, fluffy, snouted garments (advertised as “good luck charms”) could be Samoyed or Pomeranian dogs.

We doubt this crappy little shop is trading in pedigree furs, but, either way, something cute, furry and innocent has died for these pointless items.

Whatever the reality, “Fashion victim” should not be a title extended to animals.
