The North District Parallel Imports Concern Group – an organisation that wants to stop people from illegally importing goods back and forth over the Hong Kong-Shenzhen border – has posted a video to Facebook claiming that it shows a cross-border smuggler’s attempt to pass himself off as a janitor for the MTR.
A group of angry (and very concerned) men start yelling and pointing fingers at an elderly man pushing large amounts of luggage.
In response, the old man takes his jacket off to reveal his bright yellow and green janitor uniform.
The men don’t believe his claims of being a staff member, and tell him to go away after he fails to produce any staff ID.
The man seems to give up eventually.
As if the poor guy wasn’t having a bad enough day already (smuggler or not), he also had his fly undone.
The group claims he was carrying 40kg of luggage.
