Man calls police, claims prostitute he hired stole his phone in Yau Ma Tei

A man, who’s not ashamed to admit that he frequents prostitutes once or twice a month, called the police after a sex worker, aged about 20, allegedly stole his mobile phone in Yau Ma Tei.

Retelling the story to Apple Daily, the 63-year-old explained that at around midnight last night, he was solicited by a prostitute he had never seen before on the corner of Pak Hoi Steet and Shanghai Street.

After a short round of negotiations they settled on HKD200 for the night. (Really?!)

Once upstairs, official business had apparenlty not yet started when the happy couple got into an argument and another woman, around 40 years old, reportedly came into the room and snatched the man’s Samsung phone, worth about HKD2,000.

The two women then ran away, according to the man, who unperturbed by his state of undress, chased them down to the street but was unable to catch up.

He flagged down a taxi so that he could call the police, who came to the scene to investigate.

When the reporter asked what the argument was about, the man said, “I don’t remember”.

The journalist pressed further, asking whether it was because he refused to pay.

“I have money! I’ve got about HKD10,000 on me!” he boasted.

No arrests were made. Prostitution is legal in Hong Kong, but solicitation and pimping are not.
