Milk formula is so last year: Parallel traders are now allegedly buying dog food in bulk

Yuen Long pet store owners are reporting that visitors from the mainland are now snapping up bags of dog food and treats in bulk.

They claim that in recent months, more and more tourists have been buying large quantities of canine chow – up to ten bags at a time, enough to last a furry friend an entire year.

When Apple Daily asked a store clerk whether he believed the purchasers were parallel traders, they responded that they “didn’t ask if they were going to use it themselves or if they were going to resell it”.

Well, it does make sense: if people don’t trust baby formula from the mainland for their beloved children, then it was only a matter of time before pet owners demanded untainted food for their animals.
