Some Hongkonger has trained their parrot to recite Tang poetry, because why the fuck not.
The animal, which appears to be an African Grey Parrot, is filmed reciting ancient Chinese poetry in an eerie voice that’s part creepy man, part robot and part avian.
The bird’s recital exhibits the perfect cadence and gravity for the poem, much to the delight of its owner: “Very gooood!”
The video has reached over 3,000 shares, because everyone loves a well-educated, talking parrot.
(FYI: The African Grey Parrot is listed under Appendix II of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species (CITES), meaning that its trade is regulated, so don’t go out and buy your own from just any breeder.)
