Concerned Hongkongers organize candlelight vigil to ‘rescue’ chief executive’s daughter

A Facebook event for a candlelight vigil for Chai Yan Leung, the chief executive’s troubled eldest daughter, has been created.

The vigil to “send condolences” to Leung will take place tonight at 8pm at the Government House in Central.

“In the face of domestic violence, do not suffer in silence,” the event description says.

“Together we go to the Government House to rescue Chai Yan Leung.”

One Facebook user posted a photo depicting clay figure versions of CY Leung and his wife Regina standing behind their daughter, who is kneeling with duct tape over her mouth.

The organisers reminded attendees to be careful since they did not apply for a police permit for the event, asking them to leave the scene if asked in order to avoid unnecessary conflict with the authorities.

The event, organised by a group inexplicably named “The Communist Party Is the Happiest”, currently has 77 guests listed as going.

The chief executive’s daughter attracted much media attention today when she made Facebook posts claiming that her mother attacked her and that she was being held against her will.
