Get your Pitch Perfect fix as the Dartmouth Aires make Hong Kong aca-awesome

Next week, the Dartmouth Aires will be performing at Fringe Dairy. Aca-scuse me?! You heard that right. One of Dartmouth College’s aca-awesome all-male a cappella groups will be performing in Hong Kong!

Instead of horizontal running while watching Pitch Perfect for the five-millionth time, or worse, catching up on Glee hoping that its returned to its Season One glory days, you can actually get your toner IRL (toner: noun, musical boner. IRL: abbrev., in real life, duh!).

Oh yes please! Gail had it right: “Nothing makes a woman feel more like a girl than a man who sings like a boy”.

The Aires’ earned their fame after placing on Season Three of NBC’s “The Sing-Off,” second only to the YouTube viral stars, Pentatonix.

Take a look at the audition video of their incredible Kanye West rendition below.

Since the show, the Aires have continued to tour both throughout the United States and internationally. They also produce their own albums, the most recent of which is punfully titled Truth or Daire.

The Aires’ YouTube channel alternates between quirky, self-deprecating performances and smoother, panty-dropping jams.

But let’s be honest, there’s something timelessly entertaining about dudes from arguably the preppiest (read: whitest) Ivy League schools covering Destiny’s Child, and the Aires know it.

Check out their medley of “Bootylicious,” “Jumpin’, Jumpin,’” “Say My Name,” and “Survivor.”

And for something more in the traditional acappella wheelhouse, here’s the Aires’ swoon-worthy cover of Ed Sheeran’s “Wayfaring Stranger.”
