‘Thumb-sized pus-filled cyst’ in pork bought from Wellcome explodes in man’s face

Please stop reading here if you plan on eating food any time in the near future.

Martin Weir, a chef with 30 years of experience including cooking for the British army, says he cut into a piece of prime pork and had a “thumb-sized pus-filled cyst” explode in his face, reports the SCMP.

“I’ve only once in my life smelled something worse – and that’s a burning body,” says the chef, who once cooked for 2,100 soldiers.

The horrifying incident occurred last night. He had bought the meat earlier in the day at a Wellcome next to the Shau Kei Wan MTR Station.

“If I’m the unlucky guy who gets one bad piece, then so be it,” said the inexplicably calm chef, who really should still be scrubbing his face with bleach.

“But if it’s from an infected farm and if all the animals have it, then this could become a regional problem.”

Wellcome said they are looking into the case and that food safety is their “top priority”.

A spokesman for the supermarket chain said he had never seen anything like that in 25 years, and we hope that nothing like this seen again for another 1,000 years, at least.
