A 54-year-old woman has been arrested in Hong Kong on suspicion of bludgeoning her 65-year-old husband to death in a dispute over the management of a mainland property.

Police were called to a flat at Kai Yan House on the Kai Tin Estate, Kwun Tong, in the early hours of yesterday morning by the 25-year-old daughter of the couple.

The three grown children had reportedly attempted to mediate a heated argument between their parents about a property they own in mainland China.

“About 10 minutes later, he [the father] was found unconscious and kneeling on the floor inside the bedroom,” a police source told the SCMP.

Initial investigations suggest the man was hit in the face and on the head with an unknown hard object.

Detective yesterday removed three wooden chairs from the flat.

Investigations are continuing.
