Cavalia opens today! The show, from the very brain of Cirque du Soleil pioneer Norman Latourelle, aims to depict the unique relationship between humans and horses through eye-popping acrobatics, cutting-edge visuals and general heart-stopping horseplay. More details.

LA-based, half-Canadian, half-Danish duo Rhye is a mysterious music group with equally hazy music. Ticketflap describes them as lying between “the worlds of The xx and Sade”, if you can picture that at all. All you need to know is that the New York Times called them seductive, so prepare to be seduced at KITEC tonight by their ethereal sounds. More details.

Wednesday

The Royal Geographical Society will be hosting Laurence Gribble and Nick Codrington to lecture on “Journey to the East: A bicycle expedition from London to Hong Kong”.  In this lecture, Mssrs Gribble and Codrington tell the extraordinary story of how in July 2014, fresh from their graduation from Cambridge, they set off by bicycle from Buckingham Palace on an expedition which would have them pedal over 17,000 kilometres across 20 countries. More details.

Thursday

“The Purest People” is a photography series that depicts people with Down Syndrome wearing outfits representing the hobbies they love, laughing with their families, or simply goofing around. The photos will be exhibited over the next two months in Wan Chai and Quarry Bay. More details.

Friday

Kary is a vocalist, guitarist and cajón player with local busking band Karod. Founded in 2009, LeftBrain played covers of British bands at first, then started composing its own music. Formed by five members with different personalities and styles, Smile plays a diverse range of music, with an emphasis on innovation.  See them all at the Just Music gig at The Fringe tonight. More details.
