Both mainland Chinese students involved in having filmed sex on a Hong Kong street have now been arrested after the female student returned to Beijing.
The 18-year-old woman turned herself in on Wednesday after returning to her hometown. She has been arrested for public indecency and is currently released on bail, Apple Daily reports.
The maximum penalty for the offence is seven years’ imprisonment.
The student is confirmed to be studying at Hong Kong’s Polytechnic University.
The 19-year old male offender was arrested for public indecency the week before and has also been released on bail.
Various videos and photos went viral after the couple was caught having sex on the pavements of Fat Kwong Street near Hong Kong’s Polytechnic University bus stop in the early hours of the morning on April 2.
Sources say the pair had been drinking heavily with friends in celebration of the man’s birthday before the incident. It was only their second time of meeting each other, according to the SCMP.
Police said no illegal behaviour was witnessed when arrived they on scene, but investigations were made after the videos circulated widely in Hong Kong.
