Nom On: Hong Kong seventh best place in the world for eating!

Hong Kong has been voted as one of the World’s Best Food Cities in the most recent Condé Nast Traveler Reader’s Choice awards.

Coming in at number seven, the delicious harbour scored ahead of Barcelona, Vancouver, Sydney, and even regional rival Singapore… loser.

San Sebastián took the top spot, while old favorite Paris and the surprise Cape Town rounded out the top three. Tokyo is the only Asian city that did better than Hong Kong.

The editors at Condé Nast Traveler compiled the list from a survey of more than 76,000 people ranking their favourite food cities around the world.

Hong Kong was included in the top 10 thanks to its transformation from a “food scene long bookended by the starchy, formal high-end and scrappy but delectable dim sum and noodle parlours,” wrote Editor-at-Large Maria Shollenbarger.

Aberdeen Street Social, Ham & Sherry, 22 Ships, Mott 32 and Duddell’s all got a shoutout. For the record though, we still love our starchy dim sum!
