Now in its third year, the WYNG Masters Award has made “waste” the subject of its 2014-2015 photography competition. Aiming to nurture the growth of photography as a local art form and stimulate dialogue and awareness of Hong Kong’s throwaway culture, the awards bring the work of the seven finalists to an exhibition at Hong Kong City Hall. Japanese pop music duo EGOIST was originally formed to create theme music for an anime series, but they proved to be so popular that they continued to make music even after the show ended. Anonymous French street artist Invader is coming back to Hong Kong! As one of undeniable highlights of Le French May, Invader will host an exhibition aptly named “Wipe Out”, bringing replicas of past invasions to The Qube pop-up space at PMQ and exploring the status of street art in the city. Hongkongers love nothing more than shopping… or maybe eating… or perhaps free stuff. Oh lookie here, an event combining all three!
