Stop the search for water! Pocari Sweat to launch moon mission in 2016

Ever feel like Pocari Sweat is taking over the world? Well it now has the moon in its sights. No joke.

The Japanese sports drink this week launched its “Lunar Dream Capsule Project” in Hong Kong.

Apparently inspired by the 2013 discovery of water on the moon, the PR stunt will see the dreams of 120 children, plus some Pocari Sweat powder, sent to the moon in 2016.

Wow. Talk about an out-of-this-world marketing budget!

The hopes and dreams of young people from around the world will be engraved onto the titanium plates of a space capsule in an attempt to bring inspiration (and hydration) to future moon colonies.

Here’s what the tasteful capsual will look like:
 

The Hong Kong drive for engagement is being blasted onto TV commercials and social media, with exhibition booths set up at public transport points.

If all goes to plan – and they don’t realise this is a CRAZY waste of money – the 380,000 kilometre mission will be launched from Florida in the summer or 2016.
