It’s time to get in there quick and book your 2016 holidays before the rest of your colleagues. The Hong Kong government has released its calendar of public and statuary holidays for 2016, with some rather easy ways to make the most of your measly annual leave days.

Next year, Hongkongers will be treated to 10 long weekends, kicking off with the Lunar Near Year on Feb. 8, 9 and 10.

As Feb. 8 is a Monday, you’d only need to take Thursday and Friday off that week to bag yourself a sweet nine-day break.

The next opportunity to win real big doesn’t come until Christmas, but it’s worth the wait.

As Jesus’ fake birthday falls on a Sunday this year, the Tuesday following Boxing Day will become a compensatory public holiday, meaning you only need to take three days off from Wednesday to Friday to clock up 10 days’ holiday.

This will include Monday January 2, which will also be designated as a holiday to make up for New Year’s Day falling on a Sunday.

This article will self destruct in 30 seconds. Email your boss NOW before everybody else in your office does.
