Thief with fetish for Cathay Pacific uniforms jailed in Hong Kong

A man with a fetish for Cathay Pacific uniforms has been jailed in Hong Kong for stealing the belongings of flight attendants.

Leung Chun-man, 30, pleaded guilty to stealing various items from Cathay cabin crew over the past three years, including uniforms and name tags.

He also admitted trying to blackmail one air hostess into handing over her bank details in exchange for the return of personal information he had stolen from her.

According to the SCMP, most of the offences were carried out on bus routes terminating at Hong Kong International Airport, where Leung formally worked in logistics.

Leung was also found to have stolen the wallet of a ground control worker and the handbag of a tourist.

Deputy Judge Ernest Lin handed Leung 32 months in jail at the District Court today, despite pleas from the unemployed defendant’s counsel about his client’s obsessive compulsive disorder and his fetish for Cathay unifroms.

Lin said the diagnosis did not excuse the crimes, three of which were committed while on police bail.
