Your weekend was probably relatively tame compared to a certain group of Lan Kwai Fong goers in the early hours of Sunday.
Police arrested 109 people in Lan Kwai Fong after a leader of the Sun Yee On triad gang allegedly got into an argument with a group of Southeast Asian bouncers, reports Oriental Press.
The triad leader, of course, called for backup in order to presumably beat the crap out of the offenders. Over a hundred people arrived at around 2am on Sunday morning to exact revenge on the bouncers.
The police were tipped off about the upcoming showdown and several units, including anti-triad officers, arrived on the scene and arrested 105 men for illegal assembly. Ah, that wonderful versatile charge that the police can use to arrest anyone they want!
The arrested men ranged between the tender young age of 14 (!) to 35.
Four more men, aged 28 to 51, were arrested for obstructing police, bringing the total number of arrestees to 109.
NOTE: This article has been updated to include reports that the Southeast Asian men were bouncers.
