Mainlander fights Japanese tourist who allegedly cut taxi line in Causeway Bay (video)

Some people in Hong Kong take queuing etiquette very seriously…

On Saturday evening, four tourists from the mainland were at the front of a taxi stand on Russell Street across from Times Square, when an inebriated Japanese tourist skipped the queue and tried to get onto their cab, reports Apple Daily.

A witness, surnamed Ho, captured the incident on video, which shows a mainland tourist (in the blue and white striped shirt) fighting a Japanese tourist (in the black shirt) – although somehow the latter ended up topless.

According to Ho, the fight began at approximately 7pm when the Japanese man, who was with his wife and son, skipped the taxi queue. A mainlander at the front of the line began yelling at the tourist, who subsequently pushed him.

The row then broke into a fight that lasted around seven minutes before police arrived at the scene to arrest them both.

At one point in the video, the Japanese holidaymaker is seen trying to leave the scene by getting into yet another taxi, only to be stopped by the mainlander’s wife, who sat on the hood in defiance.

The Japanese tourist ended up with injuries on his neck and hands, while the mainlander’s glasses were smashed. Ho likened the fight to MMA.
