Much of the world can instantly recognise the distinctive smell of McDonald’s fries wafting from any of its restaurants. Though almost anyone can order a Big Mac at their local Mickey D’s, the international similarities often end there.
Hong Kong’s McDonald’s, for example, offer Shake Shake Fries with their own locally tailored flavours of seasoning, like seaweed or salt & pepper crab.
In this Buzzfeed video, Americans try out McDonald’s in Hong Kong, and their reviews are not particularly insightful (who the hell are these people anyway?) but still rather entertaining.
“Wow, it tastes very Asian!” exclaims one woman, after she takes a bite of a Pineapple And Chicken Ciabatta.
