Wednesday’s annual July 1 march will this year be held under the tagline “Build a Democratic Hong Kong, Regain the Future of Our City.”
Organised by the Civil Human Rights Front, the rally, which will take place as Hong Kong marks 18 years since returning to Chinese rule, will begin in Victoria Park at around 3pm and end at Tim Mei Avenue outside the government headquarters.
Those involved, including the Hong Kong Federation of Students and other civil and political groups, expect hundreds and thousands to attend the first July 1 marches since last year’s Umbrella Movement.
RTHK reports that their will no doubt be calls for Hong Kong Chief Executive CY Leung to step down… because that always works.
