Sweat in the City: Hong Kong sees hottest June since records began in 1885!

If you’ve noticed your sweat-stache has been more pronounced of late, that’s because last month Hong Kong experienced the hottest June since records began in 1885.

According to figures from the Hong Kong Observatory, the average daily temperature in June was 29.7 degrees Celsius, 1.8 degrees higher than the usual average of 27.9 degrees, and the hottest since records began.

It was the second consecutive June that hit new records, with 13 nights classified as “very hot” after seeing minimum temperatures of 28 degrees, and 10 “very hot” days seeings 33 degrees or above.

June 18 and 19 were the hottest days of the month, reaching a scorchio 34.2 degrees.

Holy moly! Now who’s denying global warming, eh?
