Rock out for free with two local bands at the Fringe Club’s Open Stage

Looking to rock out to a quality band, but not a fan of sweaty crowds and overpriced tickets?

Hong Kong’s Fringe Club, longtime champion of budding local musicians and artists, will be hosting two talented bands at their Open Stage Rock Show on Friday, July 31, for an evening of free, solid entertainment.

You can’t say fairer than free.

The two bands – Carseat and Revolution – have been playing shows in Hong Kong and mainland China for years, so it’s about time you got with the programme and checked out their tunes.

Local pop-rock seven-piece Carseat has produced more than 40 songs since they were founded in 2003… but yeah, that’s fewer than four a year, so we’re questioning their work ethic a little.

The band is influenced by a spectrum of different styles, and insist that “If the band members believe in just one thing, it’s alcohol.” We like these guys already.

Meanwhile, Revolution was formed in Dongguan by four gwailos, all from different cultural and musical backgrounds. They are united by their love for classic rock, though lately they’ve also been toying with pop ballads and even Chinese pop.

Westerners doing Cantopop, that’s got to be worth a look!
